Kino im Planetarium - program with stars and under the stars

In Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin, directly on Prenzlauer Allee in the sprawling Ernst-Thälmann-Park, is the Zeiss Planetarium, which was opened in 1987 as part of Berlin's 750th anniversary celebrations. And in addition to a modern and very well-attended science theater, there is also a small, fine cinema to the left of the main entrance.

Cinema manager Andreas Radtke - originally a film editor - places a clear focus on high-quality documentaries and children's films, and references to the universe and the stars shine through throughout the entire program, giving a fresh look at our planet. Kubrick's Space Odyssey is shown here once a month - and usually has around 60 visitors.

The program is lovingly curated and, due to its themes, offers a complement to the cinemas in the surrounding area, which also offer convincing programming. Since the cinema is featured in the press work of the Planetarium Berlin Foundation, which covers the whole of Berlin, it also generates viewers from the entire city area.
